Lord Kasper's Chessboard

Lord Kasper asked Lady Christiana to build a new chessboard and chessman coffin to replace a painted - and not that well done temporary chessboard. The stand is an original, and according to him is from Turkey. The board is madeof tulip wood for the frame and 32 squares, and the other 32 squares are of black walnut. The board and coffin are finished with almond oil and hand rubbed. The board was made in Feb of 2008 and was on display at the Medieval Faire held in April in Kelowna 2008. Since them it has ben used at a number of events and outings.
